Welcome to the Jungle
Information ecology, cyborg metadata and the Social Experience challenge
Advanced Session, presented by Matt Moore.
Information architecture suggests a clean world of geometry and order. In my recent work, I have been using a set of ideas from late 90s writers such as Tom Davenport and Bonnie Nardi that instead explored “information ecology”. I want to revive this concept and see what we can use in our brave, new mobile, augmented, and social world.
In doing so, I will also suggest that UX is sooo last decade and that we need to make it a little less narcissistic so it can be a little more useful. Finally, I will be incorporating some observations and examples of the importance of “cyborg metadata” as the kikuyu that may hold together our information ecologies.
